Abstract The purpose of this study is to reflect the emotional issues and difficulties experienced by a complex-trauma experiencer during child rearing process and to understand what it means. For this purpose, this study was conducted, using the research method of autoethnogaphy, one of qualitative research methods to describe psychological experiences in depth from an insider point of view. In order to accomplish the purpose of the study, the researcher focused on emotional aspects and collected records of recollection, self-analysis journal, and conversation. The data were analyzed and interpreted to define three topics: 'Repetition of complex-trauma experience: living in helplessness', 'Experience of complex-trauma: surviving from the sense of incapability', and 'Beginning of recovery: living with the touch of warmth'. The findings of the study are as follows; first, complex-trauma experiencer continue to replay the traumatic experience when he / she forms a new relationship with their child. Second, the study showed emotional difficulties and psychological problems experienced by a complextrauma experiencer. Third, the researcher¡¯s relationship with the child can be restored through reflection on emotional experiences and experiences of calming down the emotions. The purpose of this study is to provide knowledge on complex-trauma that can be applied in the field of counseling, based on in-depth analysis on the emotional experiences experienced by a complex-trauma experiencer during child rearing process and understanding their meaning.
