Abstract The purpose of this study is to review the process of environmental education institutions staying afloat and getting adjusted, by looking into the Environmental Education Network of Chungbuk. With the review, the study is to discuss issues getting in the way of development of regional environmental education network and suggest practical solutions to tackle the situation. For the study, in-depth personal interview was conducted with two secretary generals of the institutions on environmental network of Chungbuk. The data collected from the interview was analyzed based on the grounded theory method proposed by Strauss and Corbin(1998). As a result of study, Chungbuk environmental education network had a chance to promote environmental education network with the Environmental Education Promotion Act taking effect. But opinions were mixed on incorporation of the network and this undermined solidarity. Also conflicts were emerging and recognized among the parties participating in the network. To overcome the situation, extensive discussions were made to see whether incorporation could be an alternative solutions and efforts were made to strengthen the membership, build framework to reach consensus, better communicate with each other and uphold the principle of solidarity. Given this backdrop, the study is to present the implication of environmental education network with regard to its utility and relevance, and suggest the vision of Chungbuk environmental education.
