The key research agenda was ¡®how the student, a participant of Sip O Tong Hwal counselling, came to perceive these experiences through the counseling program. While participating in the program, Jimin was able to ruminate on his life and face the painful memories of the past. Jimin¡¯s life experience with family is summarized in the story titled ¡®The Saddest Snack in the World.¡¯ The story is based on his childhood memory, tainted with economic difficulties and the parents¡¯ divorce. It was an unusual day as he could get the whole package of the snack, that had been never allowed for him before and that snack became the saddest snack in the world as he heard the news of his parents¡¯ divorce on the same day. Second, Jimin suffered a lot from domestic violence of his father, on top of economic difficulties. But still he was just a middle school boy who wanted to have a father like a friend. Jimin believed his parents divorced because of economic difficulties and that was why his father became violent. But still Jimin wants to be a friend of his father. So now he has the desire to become a friendly father for his son in the future. This study is meaningful to see how the life experiences like parents divorce affect a middle school boy who is struggling, going through the adolescence.
