Abstract This research was aimed to analyze reflection and lifelong learning of a scholar with a closer look at his life history. To achieve the research purpose, qualitative approach was adopted to analyze his life history, through in-depth interview to look back and better understand his life. The research findings showed that the scholar wa seeking lifelong learning, through critical reflection in his life. Nowadays he began to pursue cognitive reflection, such as value judgment, problem-solving, and changes. Also, his journey in life showed gradual progress in critical reflection, based on self-reflection for sociability and human relationship building with progressive and active thinking to adapt to environmental changes. In shorts, in his life, lifelong learning had an extensive meaning in each situation and contributed to improving critical introspection ability, including personal growth and harmony of life through self-reflection, as well as problem-solving capability. Self-reflection based on lifelong learning cannot be obtained without individual¡¯s striving for self-awareness and this facilitated personal growth, by building connections of various experiences, drawn from the self-awareness from diverse experiences in life.
